Pros
- The hybrid work model offers flexibility (40% office, 60% home, but it's not strict). - A pension match is a good perk. - Health insurance is okay, though they’ve cut costs recently. - Dental insurance is included. - You get a 40% discount on items shipped and sold by Zalando in your country of work. - The salary is good overall.
Cons
- I found out that a peer was offered a much higher salary than me during their interview, which feels unfair and unprofessional, especially since the Australian interviewer handled it and didn't do the same for me. I am probably on the lower end of the budget even tho I was "exceptional" during the interview. - New projects force you to work long hours, and context switching is draining. - Deadlines matter more than proper estimations. - You don’t have a say – you just have to meet deadlines, no matter how tight they are, even if the project isn’t released to the public. - The environment is very toxic, especially from upper management. One Canadian manager, in particular, makes things worse with their attitude. - No bonus - No real career progression, as you can't focus on your goals - Salary increases and promotions processes are very complicated and hard to understand.
