A lot of work, plenty of opportunities, but General MGMT Team suck at seeing the potential of employees - Sales Associate Zara Employee Review

Pros

Experience in retail, experience in stock, experience in customer service ( at times styling), usually younger employees which could be a yay if you are within the age group, 15% discount on all merchandise, if you are part-time then requesting for vacation time or a day off is usually no problem if requested a head of time.

Cons

Lots of standing, lots of heavy lifting, very fast paced, a ton of expected multi-tasking, really rude and demanding customers, there were a lot of moving up opportunities but management usually chose their favorites, not those deserving. You will probably never get a raise unless you've worked over 3 years/ or get promoted/ or you're a favorite, your feet will go numb, they mess up your schedules and forget to tell you (so you might walk in late unexpectantly). They sometimes hire people who ONLY speak Spanish (no english) so communication sometimes is difficult among the team (and can cause a lot of quarrels among those who don't understand each other).

Pros

My coworkers and Managers felt like a family I felt supported and was able to make good connections At the time I was there my managers made it feel less daunting to ask questions or come to them if I had concerns about customers . I feel like if I stayed with Zara longer I would have been able to move within the company easily.

Cons

Air conditioning didn't work while I was there.
