Unfortunately, my experience at ZimVie company reflects an organization in steady decline. Since joining, the company has gone through repeated headcount reductions approximately every six months, creating a constant sense of instability and uncertainty. The recent private equity acquisition has only accelerated this trend, with an ongoing focus on cost-cutting and resource reduction rather than long-term growth or employee investment. Career advancement opportunities are extremely limited. While HR and leadership formally go through the motions of discussing career development and growth plans, these conversations rarely translate into meaningful action. Development plans are discussed, documented, and then largely ignored, leaving employees feeling disengaged and undervalued. Upper management appears disconnected from the realities faced by employees. Decisions are driven primarily by short-term financial optics and self-preservation rather than building a sustainable, healthy organization. Communication from leadership often feels performative, offering reassurance without substantive follow-through. Morale has steadily declined as teams are stretched thinner, workloads increase, and remaining employees are asked to do more with fewer resources. The overall direction suggests that additional layoffs and restructuring are likely, making it difficult to recommend this company to anyone seeking stability, growth, or a supportive work environment.

In a sales role, that’s not always easy to find - but here, leadership genuinely supports sustainable success. Speaking of leadership, there is strong, experienced leadership in place that is accessible, supportive, and invested in your development. What you see on the surface — polished branding, people-first language, and "collaborative values" — is purely for show. Behind the curtain is a toxic, fear-driven environment where survival depends on staying silent, staying small, or selling your soul. Let’s be clear: Fake professionalism rules here. Leaders smile in public meetings and talk about "transparency" while privately plotting to discredit or isolate anyone who challenges them. Gaslighting is rampant. You will be told your concerns are invalid, that you're imagining things, or that “you misunderstood.” Meanwhile, the people actually causing harm are praised and protected. Feedback is not welcome. Unless you're offering blind praise, your input will be dismissed, picked apart, or used against you. Favoritism and bias dictate success. Promotions and visibility go to those who play politics, align demographically, or stay quiet. Talent, ethics, and hard work come second. Clients are misled regularly. Work is repackaged to appear more strategic or impactful than it actually is. Some leaders even fabricate "feedback" or metrics to tell the story they want. Blame rolls downhill.
