Pros

Short Fridays, free snacks, discounted/free product

Cons

They do not value there employees. You are a cog in the machine and if you malfunction for even a moment you are pushed out and replaced. There is little to no employee development. You better know how to do your job perfectly right out of the gates because they give no room for mistakes or learning. The leadership does not really seem to know what they are doing or how to manage their teams. Again, showing that you value someone and working to grow their skills & passion for your company would lead to stellar work! They've let go multiple employees who were so passionate about the company and have kept so many who really seem to not care that much; it's such a shame! The company has very little money & poor sales so employees are doing multiple jobs for little pay. I know people who are forced to live at home with their parents because the pay cannot cover their basic living costs in Seattle. Annual raises are given only to the leadership because they cannot afford to give raises to everyone, even those who were well deserving. This obviously leads to unhappy, low motivated employees. The President seems to not really know how to run a business. The environment is very cliquey; I feel like I was back in my college sorority. Overall, it was a bad work experience!

Pros

LOVE my coworkers! Love the commission! The clients are fun and interesting traveling all over the world. The product discount we get as employees is amazing! Plus health and dental benefits is a huge added bonus! State insurance was so much more expensive before I started with butter. I don't agree with the pay for manicurist that is on here - since you get both hourly and commission. Managers are cool, always trying to do what they can to keep us happy.

Cons

It is hard to use all my vacation like mentioned previously - but I get 3 weeks of paid vacation which is unheard of in retail/salon industry. If I get my time in early I usually get it. AND I never lose it, they even let me keep what I couldn't use from last year! I do agree with security being a hassle, but hey that's the airport. Plus you can't bring in liquids so buying food can get expensive!

Pros

Most of the product is great and the discount is good, although other cosmetic companies tend to give their employees the product for free. Most of the people working under the directors are great and fun to work with.

Cons

- Too much micromanagement that starts at the very top. The president doesn't trust the directors to do their jobs and in turn the directors don't trust their employees to do their jobs. There is a lot of finger pointing and blame being put on other people. - I have witnessed and heard stories of the president lashing out angrily at employees, sometimes screaming at them in an unprofessional manner. Most of whom are directors with much more experience in their field than her. - HR is a joke and it is sadly affecting the job satisfaction of the employees. They don't know who to turn to when they are having issues with the president (because she is also the president's assistant), when they are having problems with the few directors she pals around with, or when a male co-worker is being inappropriate (this particular co-worker has had MANY complaints about making people feel uncomfortable and nothing has been done). I also suspect the HR coordinator is responsible for some of the positive reviews below after negative ones have been posted. - The company is a sinking ship with a high turnover rate.
