Pros
ICIMS was a great company to join several years ago. At the time, they were small but fast growing, provided excellent and improved benefits year over year and had a vibrant and energetic culture primed for success. As a new hire, you couldn't help but be excited. My direct report and colleagues were quick to help and had both mine and their own success on the mind. As a team and individual contributor, sales records were broken, success was celebrated and mistakes were learned from and corrected quickly with the right support.
Cons
Growing pains led to real business problems: Teams became quickly silo'd and compartmentalized with little collaboration. iCIMS too quickly took on new hires and ultimately diluted the quality of hire and overall culture. Performance in multiple areas suffered and continues to do so. A series of layoffs followed that and wrecked moral. Sales targets are frequently missed, adding to the downward spiral. This continues to be the case at iCIMS with most goals for 2017 being missed to date. SMB customers shafted by product positioning refocus. Not a great place to be joining right now.
