Pros
- One of the better workplaces for neurodivergence. - In the technical departments, there's a lot of job security. - Responses to big mistakes are often systemic reviews, not personal. - Many people carve out an excellent work-life balance - Office perks are very good, though have disminished over time - Chatty!
Cons
- A significant imbalance in who does the work, especially for a company of this size - Senior leadership can be a little deluded. Related, concerns around misogyny dismissed by CEO who "personally [hadn't] experienced that" - A lot of work is assessed by presentation as opposed to function, and strategic value is evaluated by either novelty or urgency. There's not a lot of incentive to do great work, while there is incentive to make fires just to put them out! My personal experience was being talked down to a lot when I proposed improvements, because the value structure of those who held the most sway was built around fast results, always sacrificing robustness. The incentive to grow was stiffled. So what is a relaxed culture for some is a slow death for others.
