Pros

Good pay and benefits, treats employees well, extensive training program, friendly culture and recently relaxed the dress code. Impressed with how ifm is handling the Covid situation. Changes have been made to the building. It is July and, very slowly, people are returning to work. When they do, everything is spaced more than required. The USA CEO and the owner from Germany have been communicating with all employees and I found the weekly emails very informative. There is a mix of race and religions. Anyone wishing to present an idea will be heard.

Cons

One con is that some managers are flexible; some are not. This is a hot topic amongst all employees since it is so obvious, especially those managers that allow their employees to work from home or have flexible hours. You can talk a good talk and get what you want (although we can all have a reason to work from home; but managers like some reasons/people more than others). It is noticeable and unfair; employees are frustrated.

Pros

The company strongly promotes a sense of internal loyalty through its "Orange Blood" culture, presenting itself as a tight-knit family. While this can create a feeling of community for those who align closely with leadership expectations, it may feel less welcoming to individuals who value independent thinking or outside perspectives.

Cons

For some, the cultural intensity can verge on insularity, with a few observers informally comparing it to a "true believer" environment. Company events and traditions are frequent and lively, but may feel performative rather than inclusive to those who have not spent their entire careers with the company. Within the company there is a clear ambition to align with modern tech industry standards. But the company's foundations in industrial manufacturing continue to strongly influence its culture and operations. This heritage provides stability, but also limits the speed and flexibility associated with true technology-driven organizations. Overall, while the workplace appears friendly and committed on the surface, prospective employees should take time to evaluate whether the culture’s strong internal focus and industrial paced product development supports their long-term career growth.
