Pros

Sandbox, although now larger, is still privately owned which has helped the team flex and be more about the people versus black and white profits. As cheesy as it sounds, "Sky's the limit" when it comes to growth opportunities as we are looking at more agencies to join sandbox as well as growing business. New ideas are welcomed and if you want to help lead an initiative, you are encouraged to do so! Lots of fun company outings + happy hours to foster relationships and blow off the steam that comes with being in advertising :)

Cons

Not cons as much as advice for those that don't like change - it's pretty neccesary in today's advertising world and so to remain relevant and useful for our clients, we sometimes have to change up our structure or our approach. Those that thrive in those environments will enjoy not being stagnant but it can be tough that don't adopt well.

Pros

Benefits are ok. Some of the existing staff seems to care about employees from new acquisitions.

Cons

Chicago is the HQ. They have already cemented themselves into any positions of importance and spread the workload amongst the existings offices. Don't get caught thinking there will be a place for you if you work hard and integrate, just like they ask. Instead, artificial smooth talkers will take any meaningful positions, while those who know what they are doing have either left already or will be laid off in the next round of cuts. And yes, there will be cuts. That is the business model they have chosen, just keep replacing people who aren't in Chicago. Buy up a new company for their clients and cut the staff. Today, half of the Orange County office was let go. Don't expect any kind of reasonable severance either. You will need a new job lined up immediately. My advice: If you are the next company purchased by Sandbox Agency..get out. Get Out Now!

While many of our senior leaders do sit in our Chicago office we recognize we have leaders in every office no matter what someone’s title is. While we need to make difficult business decisions that affect our employees our leaders, with the title or not, support those individuals in any way that we are able.
