Pros

In the BAM unit, one of the key advantages is the autonomy to shape your workday. What I mean by this is that there is no micromanagement regarding when or where you should complete your tasks. I have the flexibility to work from wherever I choose, and within reasonable business hours, whenever it fits best. Of course, this doesn’t mean working at night when colleagues and clients are available during the day. Another positive aspect is that the pay is merit-based. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in the industry; if you’re delivering at the same level as more experienced consultants, your compensation reflects that. Personally, I’ve had two pay increases because my supervisor recognized that I’ve taken on more demanding responsibilities.

Cons

One of the biggest challenges is that with such great autonomy, you need strong self-leadership skills. Some people may feel like they are left on their own. Additionally, the work is very demanding, and no one will step in to tell you what to do next. This lack of direction can be difficult for those who prefer more guidance. Another downside is that some employees work fully remotely all the time, which can result in weaker connections between teammates.
