Pros

There are no pros to working at EVE

Cons

I was a client at EVE and later worked at EVE. This was made known to all my coworkers before starting and I believe it is why I was started at a much lower rate. The hotline was not fully staffed during the entire time I worked at EVE and the shelter had multiple break in attempts when I was left alone in the building. There were never any safety plans for what staff should do.

Pros

I loved the people I got to work directly with! I felt supported by my coworkers and by a few of the supervisors I had over the years. Frontline staff truly care for their clients and I regularly saw advocates and other staff go above and beyond to support their clients.

Cons

For as long as I was employed, management tended to make the work environment very difficult on top of being an already emotional and draining field. Leadership overall did not provide effective or appropriate supervision or support and there was a huge emphasis on discipline, write ups, and termination as a management style as opposed to problem solving and constructive criticism. I was never made to feel like an important or valued team member.
