Pros

The philosophy at work, core values, and team environment make Enterprise Automation an excellent and challenging place to work. Managers want to keep their employees happy and they take care of having a good life/work balance. There are a lot of opportunities to grow as an engineer (i.e.: via commissioning, training courses, design of SCADA systems, certifications sponsored by the company,...)

Cons

Small company in growth process. The company is taking a new direction so that's only achieved by making changes at all levels. Employees should be able to adapt to this situation. Currently, most of the projects are related to water-systems. As an engineer, I miss being able to learn more about other type of industries.

Pros

- On-Board training and work standards foster excellent work habits and industry best practices in the areas of documentation, review, and book-keeping - Company mission statement is inspiring - Floor engineers are pleasant to work with

Cons

-Very little design work. Clientele may vary greatly, however, much of the work is monotonous. -Development software faces growing pains while it changes owners, as a result a great deal of time is spent on the phone with support and waiting for patches. -High turn-over rate; 11 employees left over 2 years time. -Management is unstable; the company has endured several company-wide restructuring events to solidify project planning and work delegation. -Upper management is a nightmare to work with. -There is no check or balance to the HR department which is unfortunate because its quite common for the HR department to make inappropriate comments or address private issues without tact or sensitivity. -To improve autonomy, many responsibilities of the project manager have been delegated to the floor engineer -This is not a 40-hour a week job; working the 8AM-5PM shift is frowned upon it's more common to work 9AM-6:45PM on a slow day and 9AM-7:30PM if a deadline is approaching. -Trying to maintain a balance between work and home life is a serious offense; this company is your family and your life from the day you are hired to the day you are fired.

Pros

Working for Enterprise Automation has been a positive experience for me. The company is growing quickly which allows for fast career advancement. I feel career advancement happens much faster at Enterprise Automation than most other engineering firms. Also, the company is more technically advanced than the average systems integrator. Engineers work with a wide variety of technologies which provides more learning opportunities. Engineers do everything from IT, process control, and computer programming. You'll generally be able to find interest in 1 or more areas. Most importantly, management has created an open door environment for all individuals. You can feel comfortable providing constructive criticism to management, and your suggestions will be taken seriously.

Cons

Because we're a small company, engineers get handed more responsibility than they would receive at a big company. It's easy to get overwhelmed, especially when your first learning the industry. However, as long as you're obeying company values and processes, experienced engineers are more than willing to assist.
