Pros

Been here a couple of years now and it's the best place I've ever worked. An ever growing team of talented and motivated people from so many disciplines - ecology, land management, data, sales, legal etc. It's the market leader in the sector doing groundbreaking stuff. Great CEO, supportive culture, pretty good pay and benefits, clear mission/purpose. there are quite a lot of promotions and you have the opportunity to advance your career

Cons

very fast paced which isn't for everyone, but the culture is always supportive. Going the extra mile does get recognised and it feels worthwhile

Pros

Great flexibility in how and when you work Supportive and friendly team who are always happy to help Really positive working culture with people who genuinely care Good work–life balance due to the remote setup

Cons

Fully remote working may not suit everyone, especially if you prefer in‑person interaction — but if you're comfortable working from home, it’s a great place to be

Best place I've worked

Pros

EB has been a breath of fresh air following time in the charity and public sectors where wages were stagnant and promotions were non-existent, but not so at EB. Pay is good, holiday is generous and staff socials and training is abundant. Great familial culture and lots of good people. The staff get togethers are superb and I've felt very looked after since I've worked here, having been offered plenty of opportunity to progress and expand my knowledge. Management have not shied away from showing the door to poorly performing individuals which has been encouraging to see. Too many times I've worked in organisations where people are not doing their job but management have been too scared to take action, allowing disfunction to become entrenched. If you're an environmentalist wanting to be involved in exciting habitat creation and restoration projects then EB is 100% the place for you. EB is easily the best place I've worked!

Cons

The pace of change has been challenging at times and new processes have necessarily come thick and fast but this is to be expected with BNG which is a relatively new marketplace.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. It really means a lot to hear how positive your experience at EB has been. Knowing that you’ve felt supported, recognised, and given space to grow is exactly what we aim for, and it’s wonderful to hear that you’ve found the culture, training, and team spirit to be such a good fit for you. Your comments about feeling looked after and having opportunities to progress are especially appreciate, it’s great to see that reflected through your experience. We're also glad that our approach to performance management has helped create the kind of high‑performing, accountable environment you value. You’re right that the pace of change can sometimes feel fast, especially in a developing BNG landscape. We’re committed to making that journey as smooth as possible and continuing to improve how we communicate and support everyone through it. Thank you again for the difference you make at EB and for calling it the best place you’ve worked, that really is fantastic to hear.
