Pros

- Enjoyed the company of my co-workers - Office is closed for about a week during the holidays

Cons

- Very low pay - Supervisor did not make goals/expectations/deadlines clear - Supervisor gave little to no guidance on tasks - Supervisor was unresponsive to questions and emails yet I was expected to be immediately responsive to her questions and emails - Suggestions during team meetings were dismissed - My hard work was not appreciated nor were the skills and knowledge I brought to the job - Upon leaving, they make you sign something stating that you will not say anything negative about the company thus restricting your free speech rights. This doesn't seem conducive to a small environmental non-profit

Pros

International travel, small NGO feel, meaningful mission statement. Seemingly a great organization.

Cons

No human resources department, zero concern for anyone that is not a part of "management", huge egos at top level, suffers from Founder's Syndrome. Hiring committee will talk a good game but there is no follow through. There is high turnover with good reason. BEWARE.

Pros

The campaign workers are very passionate about their goals. It's easy to see that they all care very much for each other and the world.

Cons

Difficult to rise up in the ranks if not associated directly with project work. Interns/fellows stay in that position for much longer than usual.
