Pros

The team at Epic are friendly, curious, and intelligent people who are passionate about science. Once I learned about the technology and that Amber was leading the company, I couldn't wait to join the team. I previously worked with Amber, so I appreciate her dedication and how available she makes herself to everyone. In addition, Amber is a mother with a child living with a rare disease, so you know she has "skin in the game," working to find treatments for patients. I love the waterfront footpaths, the bright open workspace, free lunches, snacks, happy hours, and boba tea on Fridays. In addition, they offer competitive benefits, with the company paying 80%, generous equity, complimentary shuttle to BART/Caltrain, and other perks.

Cons

The only downside I can see is the lack of amenities in the immediate area; Foundry & Lux is one of a few options within walking distance, but there are plenty of options within a short drive.

Pros

I love working at Epic! The company has a great mission, and possesses deep expertise in cutting edge technology. People are nice and brilliant, and everybody is willing to help. It is a place where you feel your work matters and makes an impact, which is very important in this field. In addition, this is a company that cares about their employees and plays an active role in maintaining a comfortable work environment. The CEO is approachable, humble, and provide clear leadership and vision for the company. I would recommend Epic to anybody who wants to work in a positive work environment with a sense of purpose!

Cons

It is a startup, and there are risks inherent to startup environments. I have seen people growing, and there are a lot of opportunities for growth, but the company could better define the framework for career development. There is not a lot of options for food around the company.

Pros

I have yet to work at a company where every individual plays a proactive role in building the company up. From integration/rollout of new software to the recognition and celebration of everyone's diverse background, our team truly stands out as one that is proactive. The team we have built at Epic should be the envy of any company. Finally, our vision is nothing short of transformative, as we are revolutionizing how genetic medicine is treated. The leadership team is not only made of wonderful people but also has the experience to make this grand vision possible.

Cons

The lab/office is located in a bit of food desert. With the ever-expanding biotech scene in Sierra/Oyster Point, would be great to have more local options that are within walking distance.
