Pros

I really don't know ... But I wish I could

Cons

I can only talk about the Australian subsidiary. Well, there is a poor management and no leadership. Time management is an unknown term there. Communication is poor, really poor. You will be aware that you are the lead consultant on a project 2 days before meeting the client for a workshop ... The project managers don't know the solution, so the "tech" team must rescue them daily. Testing at Esker? It doesn't exist. we put in production, we cross the fingers and hope for the best. When I explained that to my boss he didn't understand ... Maybe because he is not aware of what we are doing. I won't recommend that company, and it got worse days after days. And in terms of salary is way below the market. Of course, if they will try to take advantage of you. Each dime is important to them if it's not in their pocket. The office is not maintained there is no common room, so you always eat in front of your desk. Clearly, the company is sales-oriented, only numbers matter. There is also a competition between different subsidiaries, jealousy is growing. Good luck to current employees!

Pros

- Friendly technical people - Team activity can be enjoyable

Cons

- Sales-Oriented SME with ~20 employees in total. Big gaps in the compensation/package salary between Sales and Technical people. - There is very little to no profit sharing (at all!) for the technical people. That's a big surprise. Just comparing with what other companies can offer. Technical should be as important as Sales. This is a personal statement. - Changing technical jobs and companies resulted in a 75% salary increase for me. I am not saying that I am a superstar. But there was something wrong there. I can understand a 10% increase after changing jobs. IT roles are too vague in terms of job description. You can get paid almost twice more to do the same job at a different company. That's more a general fact for technical people: never underestimate your skills and how much you worth. And for sure: don't let people decide for you! - Very few new learnings on the technical side, I've learned more in a couple of months in my current role than over the years with Esker Australia on the technical side. Also, I love to learn and explore new things. That's probably why I was not a great fit for that static business model. - Turnover is high and controlled. In a sense, you are not expected to stay too long. There was nothing really attractive to stay for me after 3-4 years. Our business agreement subsequently broke down. - To conclude, Esker Australia was an good experience and exposure to business. I hesitated between 2 and 3 stars. And I went for two at the end. - I was surprised to receive my final payment 3-4 weeks late (this is factual with payment receipt proof). Especially from a company reselling cloud-based software.. for e-invoicing and payment. I tried to leave in good terms but kept a good track record of what happened at the end of my contract employment just in case. I think you will/should have an ok time at Esker Australia. It remains decent. In a way, it is just a perfect example of how far capitalism can go and the "business mindset" (which I clearly don't have but maybe it will start coming with the time as I am still pretty young).
