Poor management. No training process. Dishonest business dealings. No HR Dept.
Pros
Because the company is a Canon solutions dealer, Canon pays for you to attend their sales training conference, which provides invaluable information and resources that are helpful to a selling career. This perk is not something Canon provides and not Ethos though, so it's hardly a perk of the company itself.
Cons
Management structure is unclear and non-communicative. The president of the company has a used car salesmen strategy and insists on attending every important meeting, making the company seem smaller and often souring deals because of his communication style. There is no clear training program apart from the Sales manager sending you random YouTube videos to watch and telling you to make endless cold calls to set meetings. Additionally, management does not communicate well and has poor time management. This would result in client meetings where the sales manager and/or president would show up ten minutes late, or completely miss the pre-confirmed meeting. Additionally, management had sliding expectations and often spoke very poorly of the owner and founder, often referring to them as "old" or "dumb". I also witness a few dishonest business deals where equipment was marked way above cost and somewhat falsely advertised. There were also a number of times in a sales meeting (which ran overtime for no reason) where the management would speak crudely of women or make widely inappropriate comments. There is no HR Department. Again, there is NO HR department. The president will often reassure you by saying, "We don't need an HR because the buck stops with me". However, he would consistently use crude language and inappropriate comments that left a number of staff uncomfortable.
