      Pros

      - international with interesting personnel diversity - recruiting and hiring process (in general, they hire personnel with good profile and skills)

      Cons

      - on the mid level, there is incompetence, managers follow micromanagement and despotic decisions (forced to cover their own back). This situation increases frustration levels and decreases creative thinking in lower level Employees or consultants with career expectations and that wish to develop/apply skills or perform well leaves sooner than later the organization, or stay frustrated and decide to make a compromise.

      Pros

      - Highly operational inter-governmental organisation - Multi-cultural work environment - Location very close to Frankfurt - Acceptable salary and benefits (subject to change) - Work/life balance pretty much depends from the Unit you are in

      Cons

      - Minimal internal career opportunities. Upwards or sidewards moves just possible if your own position follows suit - Due to its small structure and highly technical focus, EUMETSAT enjoys a very limited external recognition - Organisation marred by a fair share of cronyism, corruption and incompetence at all levels - Beware in case of individual job-related disputes, as no effective recourse is available

      Good international worklplace, but a lot of red tape and procedures

      Pros

      International environment, weather in Germany is mostly ok, Salary and benefits for staff are good. Hours are good for work-life balance (flexi-time). Rockets - they send stuff into space!

      Cons

      A LOT of procedures/rules and red-tape. A very paranoid environment where people are more interested in taking care of themselves and hiding behind rules rather than getting on with doing the best job for the company. Not great for advancing your career.
