As a nationwide contractor, our customer sites - petrol stations and commercial fuelling facilities - are located throughout the UK, which means there can be a significant amount of travel time to and from jobs. We always consider employee locations when scheduling jobs but sometimes, depending on the location of the employee, we cannot avoid long travel times. Employees are paid while they are travelling, and overtime will be paid for any hours that exceed contracted hours.
We appreciate that the downstream fuel retailing industry is incredibly fast paced and that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Our company purpose is to keep our customers’ fuel flowing and we are prepared to go above and beyond for our customers to achieve that. We have monthly internal awards to reward employees who themselves go above and beyond while supporting this mission.
A significant percentage of employees have been with the company for 15 years and we have many employees who have progressed from entry-level roles to supervisor and management positions. All of our directors began their careers in field-based operational roles so they understand and have experience of the demands of field service engineering.
