Worst company I've ever worked for

Pros

You get to see some great shows.... If you actually get any work!

Cons

You have to apply to work at events using their app. They tell you when you start that they understand circumstances change and you can decline a role you applied for if it doesn't suit you... This isn't the case! They put it down as a cancellation and then give you very little shifts after that as you appear "unreliable". Meanwhile, it's ok for them to inform you a few hours before your shift is due to start that you are no longer needed... Then if you don't put down the availability for big events they grill you on why. Very few opportunities to move up in the company as there are so many people who have been there for years - these people get all the good roles at events and newer people are left standing in the background on their own for 9 hours with only a 10 min break. Any wonder the turn around rate is so high? A lot of the "more important" members of staff and those who have been there for a while actually look down on you. Very seldom you'll get a smile never mind a hello - either look straight past you or you get a blank stare. No sense of employee appreciation at all. Nearly as if theyre doing you a good turn by giving you work and you owe them.

Pros

Decent pay for students. Plenty of job opportunities and hours of work throughout the year. You choose when to work as and when you're free

Cons

Whilst the jobs/events are shown to be available via uTrac, actually being given the hours of work is once in blue moon. Even when you made yourself available as soon as the job is advertised on the system, you still have a slim chance of working it. Expected to work without travel expenses to the varying events (ie. Dublin) however, travel arrangements are provided without your expense (+/-).

Pros

Eventsec provides a vast array of workplace locations, with the company providing security resources to a diverse range of companies (for example, Belfast City Council, MCD Productions, and the Group of 8 [G8]). Work shifts range from 5-18 hours, with employees undertaking several roles for the organisation. Due to the flexibility of the work schedule, employment with the organisation is perfect for full-time students in higher education, or individuals who seeking an additional revenue flow.

Cons

Due to the pressures of the job, some management staff may fail to attend to employees' needs. Employees may experience work shifts that do not possess a break, or may wait a prolonged period of time before being able to take a 'comfort break'. Management have taken steps to address these concerns, however, these problems are still prominent within the company. In addition, I have heard some stories of rude supervisors and management; with some supervisors being less than polite to stewards.
