Pros

Location is decent with adequate parking

Cons

This place is extremely management heavy and unless you suck up , you are not considered a good fit. Do not work here unless you are ready to spend 50 -60 hours here. They will tell you it's a great product but they won't tell you that it's too late to an already saturated market.

Poor Leadership

Pros

Product could have promise if further developed.

Cons

Leadership has no loyalty to employees, high turnover of key executives. Watched several C-level and Director level executives treated very poorly resulting in high turnover. Leadership treated employees as expendable on a whim. Constantly changed product direction without marketing testing.

This is Andy Zimmerman, CMO of Evergage, responding. After reading this review, I felt compelled to respond to correct multiple inaccuracies. (1) We have not had high turnover of executives or of employees generally. I have been with the company since 2014, during which time we’ve had 5 executives (VP and C-level) join the company and only one departure in early 2016. The leadership team has been stable and continues to expand. This information can all be verified on LinkedIn. (2) We have not changed product direction in over 4 years. We provide a platform for real-time personalization and continue to add capabilities to support real-time personalization. There has been no direction change at all. This can be verified by looking at our press releases over the last few years. (3) Leadership does not treat employees as expendable, nor has Karl Wirth ever spoken poorly of a current or past employee at a company meeting. The first of the company’s core values (which originated with Karl and our other co-founder when the company was started) is “Ethics & Integrity.” The second core value is “People – Hire the Best and Treat them Well.” We publish the company’s core values on our website; they are posted conspicuously on big, bright prints in the office; and they form the basis for all employee performance evaluations and hiring decisions. Karl talks about our core values all the time, especially at company meetings. He has never nor would ever speak badly about past employees in a company meeting. If he did speak about people this way, the whole company would call him out on it! And no leader or manager in the organization would ever treat an employee as “expendable on a whim.” Employees have been terminated for poor performance, of course, but only after working with them over time to try to help them improve. I do not know the poster's motivation for this review, but please consider all the other reviews, come in and meet us, learn about our culture and core values, ask tough questions, and see for yourself what Evergage is really all about.

Terminated w/ out cause - beware

Pros

-8 years old and still a startup -revolving door. always hiring -focused on attempting to build a company culture.

Cons

-Terminated me without cause or warning. Only thing that the CEO said was that it was best for the company. (wife was two weeks away from due date). -Toxic sales culture. Everyone scared to give input in fear of outcome -Direct report and his colleague were master micro managers - focusing mainly on styling or critiquing vs actual coaching and support.

This is Karl, CEO of Evergage. To the person who wrote this review, as I said to you personally when we spoke, I enjoyed getting to know you. I am sorry that it didn’t work out for you to continue at Evergage, and I am very sorry that the timing of when we let you go was just 2 weeks from your wife’s due date. As you know, the team learned of this fact as we were letting you go. While I’m sure it didn’t help much with the stress of having a baby while looking for a job, we did try to help a little by giving you additional severance and health care coverage. To those reading the review, we do have a performance plan that we will put people on if needed and when appropriate. This sales person was with Evergage for less than 6 months. During those months, I know much of our team came to appreciate this person’s humor and friendliness. However, as this person was exiting training/ramp-up (about 4 months) and beginning to try to sell, it was clear to me personally (from an onsite customer visit together) as well as to my sales management team that this person did not understand our product, market or customer, and was not someone who we would want in front of customers representing us. As these were deeper things that a performance plan wouldn’t address, we decided to part ways. In my opinion, if it is clear that someone will not thrive in a role, you are doing them as well as the company a disservice to pretend otherwise. I am sure there are sales situations in other companies where this person will thrive and I look forward to that happening.
