Pros

TapHunter is a great place for freshly graduated college students or anyone with zero sales experience. Great to place to see the ups and downs of startup life You will get good at cold-calling, something that I've seen other sales professionals struggle with. This is a great skill to have. Nearly everyone I met who worked here at one point is now at a better job or better position in their life.

Cons

-Any experienced sales professional should look else where. -TapHunter will sell you on the culture but the best part of the culture was gutted from the company a long time ago. -Low Pay -Barely ANY PTO -Micromanagement like I've never seen before or after -The company laid off their entry level sales position and high producing veteran sales executives and now they are hiring unpaid interns to do the same job -I would have recommended before but with what the sales leadership has turned into, I cannot at this point

We appreciate your feedback. We are sorry that your experience was not as good as it could have been. Past employees often do go on to bigger positions and we take great pride in that. Regarding low pay, the sales positions are highly leveraged performance-based roles with uncapped sales incentive pay. We just revamped our PTO program at the end of 2016 based on employee feedback and we are confident that we are competitive with larger startups and other companies in the area. It’s disappointing that you felt micromanaged and that is something we are actively working on with leadership. One correction that should be pointed out, is that we have not hired non-paid interns in our sales division and have no plans to do so in the future. Your feedback helps us to make TapHunter a better place to work and we hope to encourage current employees to take advantage our open door policies while they are still with us.

Pros

- Start-up culture allows you to observe with some transparency into the gears of the organization - They invest in user-friendly software to make you life easier: inter-office communication apps, administrative apps, and organizational tools - Relaxed dress code and casual culture makes being on the phones comfortable - Enjoy a pint at the end of the day - The sales team is comprised of fun, energetic, and competitive people - Company offers fair compensation for self-generated sales (you eat what you kill) - Benefits, free coffee, and occasional company outings

Cons

- There is not much training for new hires as it is pretty much 'hit the ground running 'mentality on the sales floor. - Parking is a disaster (invest in a parking garage or be the first one to the meter each morning) - There is a low ceiling on how much money you can make as an account executive (don't expect to get rich) - The company culture that was once worth the lower pay has been lost - In sales you are only as good as your last week here and termination without any warning is very common

Thank you for your comments. We pride ourselves on open and honest communication which translates into a very transparent culture. It’s great that you acknowledge that as it is one of our core values and that it resonated with you. We are disappointed to hear you felt there was not much training for new hires. We have taken action since your time with us to ensure that our new hire training program is a success. We also have an uncapped commission plan to incentivize and reward our sales team. We hope these changes indicate willingness on management’s part to respond to feedback such as yours.

Pros

The atmosphere is great. You ring a bell after a sale and everyone in unison cheers. Good music plays throughout the day and there is a several craft beer pony kegs you can sip on post 3:30pm.

Cons

They emphasize a family culture and full transparency but with the recent layoffs they're anything but. You will be having drinks laughing it up with the higher ups to the next day being told you're being let go. They will let you go by pulling you into a room while a Sales Manager packs your things only to exit the room with a box by your feet and are told to exit out the backdoor. You are not allowed to say farewell to the coworkers you developed friendships with over the course of your time. Major layoffs the past 3 months.

Thank you for your feedback. To be clear, we haven’t had major layoffs in the last 3 months but, instead, have made a strategic decision to change the structure of our sales organization to support competitive objectives and for the good of TapHunter. We made every effort to explain this initiative to the entire company which is in alignment with our core values of being open and honest. Any attempt to provide a dignified exit was done for the benefit of departing employees. We never discourage personal good-byes or messages after separation from TapHunter, but also try to minimize disruption during the workday. The only constant is change and we run fast at TapHunter. We’re willing to take calculated risk and ship fast versus analyzing an idea to death and losing precious time and market ground. In the end, we are a stronger company and team. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
