I worked at Evergy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a paycheck, and there's plenty of work (probably too much).

    Cons

Company hard limits raises to between 2.5% to 3.0%. So going from a new engineer with no experience, to a licensed engineer with a PE (after 4 years) you can expect your pay to go up by about 12%, (1+0.03)^4, despite being worth way more. At that point you'll have to leave the company to get fairly compensated, Evergy wants it this way.

    I worked at Evergy

    Pros

Decent pay and benifits. The work can be very rewarding when you're not abandoning your family to meet a deadline.

    Cons

There is no work life balance. Managers and supervisors do not include team members when determining due dates, effectively forcing employees to work 10-12 hour days as well as weekends.
