Potential wasted by poo leaders

Pros

Snacks 3 travel days after 1 year of employment

Cons

I had high hopes when I joined Exclusive Resorts, but unfortunately my experience is disappointing. The culture is increasingly disconnected and difficult to thrive in. Collaboration suffers because many team members work remotely while expectations and communication aren’t always aligned. Rather than feeling like one cohesive team, it feels fragmented. Leadership leaves a lot to be desired. Management is inconsistent, communication lacks, and employee concerns go unaddressed. There is very little transparency around decisions, and morale steadily declines every year. Compensation is pathetic given the expectations and workload. Employees are often expected to take on additional responsibilities without corresponding recognition or pay, contributing to burnout and frustration. Perhaps the saddest part was the atmosphere. There is very little energy or enjoyment in the workplace. Many senior leaders appeared overwhelmed and under constant pressure, which seemed to filter down throughout the organization. It’s difficult to stay motivated in an environment where stress feels like the norm rather than the exception. Exclusive Resorts has talented employees, but meaningful improvements in leadership, communication, compensation, and workplace culture would be needed before I could recommend it as a place to work.

Pros

Great colleagues to collaborate with

Cons

Upper management is a toxic mess, there is no trust or feeling of security at all. Everyone is walking on eggshells which makes an awful environment to work in.

Pros

Free travel days during the low season. Free snacks in the kitchen. The opportunity to learn how not to run a company.

Cons

Wow - where do I even start. I guess at the top would be a good place. The CEO is more interested in his free travel with the club, his wardrobe, participating on podcasts, and incessantly demanding more and more out of his employees without proper compensation than being a leader with a purpose, vision, and clear plan. He will talk at length about how great the club is especially after merging with Inspirato and onefinestay but doesn't properly motivate or compensate his team for all the hard work they do in his absence. By the way he lives in San Francisco so he's basically never in the office (which is in Denver). How on earth a CEO can stay in tune with his staff when he is never around is insane. In the Titanic the captain went down with his ship. If he were the captain he would be the first person in a lifeboat and off the ship, given the opportunity. The company culture - well lol, the company culture is built like a high school. All the popular and longest standing "leaders" get all the glory, promotions, and incentives yet still lack any level of accountability, professionalism, and respect. They make the calls but when things go bad or they get enough member complaints they will gladly throw the blame on everyone below them and still have the audacity to ask "how did this happen?". A large portion of long-tenured employees (in all divisions of the company) have left the company because they were burned out, ignored, insulted, and passed over for promotions or opportunities they justifiably earned. If you're buddy buddy with the right people you'll move up because people are more concerned about appearances and helping friends than they are rewarding employees based on merit, accomplishments, and results. Sales - will OVER PROMISE and UNDER DELIVER to potential members (but put the blame on Member Services). HR - a text book example of disingenuous behavior behind closed doors. Member Services - oooof a dumpster fire full of over worked employees juggling impossible member demands and issues. Advice - If you're thinking about working for this company IN ANY POSITION don't. This place will drain your spirit, heart, mental health. and even your self respect. You'll work well over 40 hours a week and still be expected to work weekends, evenings, holidays, etc. I've spoken with many people in this company who feel trapped because they can't find work elsewhere in this turbulent workforce. Given the option I would give Exclusive Resorts negative 5 stars.
