Pros

Pros 1. Exciting industry. It indeed has a future. FTX is one of the largest crypto exchangers in the world, probably still 2nd in terms of daily volume. 2. The company is licensed to operate in Japan. 3. They have free water, tea, and coffee. In this sense, this has been better than other companies I worked for before. 4. They have been providing free snacks and even bento. I'm not sure if this is on a daily basis. Still better than some other companies. 5. Everyone can participate in the weekly town hall. This is a very positive aspect, and perhaps another highlight of FTX Japan.

Cons

Cons Career Opportunities 1. No clear career progression. 2. The criteria to get promoted are not clear. So, the hard working employees barely get promoted, despite being the true soldiers. However, others carry their titles on their shoulders and just live because of their titles, because actual work is barely done by them. Compensations & Benefits 1. Due to the acquisition of a former crypto exchange operating in Japan, there are a lot of changes. At first we thought the former company was saved by FTX. Actually, all they care about is earning more money. Very few management level employees got salary raise, stock options, while the hard workers got their benefits cut. Unfortunately most of the changes are getting towards negative aspects. 2. Despite offering free snacks and food, the choices are usually very unhealthy. Culture & Values 1. The company culture is problematic, with many internal politics and incidents of bullying, racism against foreigners, exclusivity, and so on, but nothing has been done to be changed. I myself have witnessed incidents together with other employees, but nothing has been done by the management level people, despite also seeing such incidents. 2. Literally there is no transparency in what they are doing. Many employees were laid off. The remaining employees don't get any notice until suddenly they discover that they cannot communicate with the former employee anymore. 3. The office space is very small. There aren't many meeting rooms. And the management keeps speaking the whole time, not letting people concentrate to do their actual jobs. Foreigners trying to show off their Japanese skills as well. 4. I worked in a team that was remote, and felt that the company didn't do enough to help us bridge the gap. 5. Every decision is a top down approach like in the military system. Diversity & Inclusion 1. There is no DEIB system. Some employees are very racist towards foreigners, LGBT+ Senior Management 1. The management tends to clearly get irritated when something is off ruining the mood, the environment. 2. The communication style is a very top-down approach, like a military system. ‘’I say, you obey’’. Those employees get heated and therefore very rude. 3. Despite being able to participate in the weekly call, the management people seem to be ''low class'' by interrupting other employees all the time with useless comments. Also, the same person was eating food and asking questions at the same time. Very unorthodox style.

Pros

Timely payment and great pay. strong brand equity (everybody wants to poach you cuz they saw FTX on your LinkedIn), they also try in terms of staff welfare.

Cons

Very few team players. Everyone is trying to outshine the others to give an impression they’re working, so you really have to find a way to get visibility for your work. If you gather too much attention to yourself outside of social media, you’ll be kicked out. Company operates like a secret cult maybe due to regulatory fears. Only the CEO is allowed to loud on social. Do your work, get your salary and stay silent and invisible. Orders must come from above, military style. They don’t appreciate independent thinkers. Old staffs/management are untouchables/unsackable no matter how much they goof. And I know someone already mentioned it, but yeah you never see the sack coming.
