Pros

Sarasota is a great town

Cons

This was the worst job I ever had. I was interested because of the potential to help ensure fair working conditions for farm workers. Unfortunately though, this organization is run by bullies and they do not care at all about their own workers. You will be expected to work 60+hours a week, on the rare chance you get a day off, expect a work-related phone call - no matter if it’s Saturday evening or Sunday morning. The culture is that if you don’t have work as your life, you are weak, not committed, and things like being sick, wanting time off, etc. are unacceptable. People mainly come and go, and those that stay become “senior” and bully the newer workers. It is a very toxic environment, While they claim to care about workers, their actions clearly show otherwise. They seem to take advantage of young, recently graduated individuals who have never worked full time before, and don’t know any better.

Pros

Beaches in Sarasota are stellar.

Cons

The hours are long and not routine in the slightest. Concur with the other reviewer that you are expected to be on call constantly and if you're not you will be viewed as not committed. Definitely not a healthy workplace. Turnover is high and morale is low. Many in management rely on the idea that ffsc does good work therefore they must be good people to justify treating employees poorly. Bullying from senior positions is rampant and poorly disguised. Not really remote as advertised. Insurance coverage is poor and expensive for spouse
