Pros

Opportunity to develop customer service skills. Great entry level job for CDL A to gain experience. Four day work week is nice. The team of drivers I work with at the Dubuque crossdock are great; however morale is extremely low due to lack of leadership.

Cons

Leadership does not support subordinates. Long hours, underpaid, short-staffed. Leadership does not lead by example, instead irritates customers. Leadership is more concerned about getting done early than training a new hire to standard. Virtually no oversight from corporate. Salesmen are upset with delivery leadership. Very low morale. Time for changes.

Pros

Farner-Bocken does a lot of great things for their employees. They have an annual company picnic at amusement parks or water parks like World's of Fun/Oceans of Fun, Adventureland, Valley Fair. They have quarterly meals for all the warehouse and office staff. They have profit sharing for 401K contributors.

Cons

There are really no cons to working for this family owned company.
