Pros

Flexible hours Now they're WFH only

Cons

Management - usually trys to ignore things with employees Games - never working on anything worthwhile that sells well. Management thinks they know best in what makes a game great and some programmers make the worst decisions then blame art department for their performance issues. Hours- You must put 40 hours a week, if you stay negative till you work those extra hours, even if you got all the work done. Most the studio doesn't put in an honest 5-10 hours of work a week. Art department is held at a higher budget of time because they don't understand how long art can take. If you go over 40 hours of work, you can carry over that time, but barely ever get paid out OT. Very low pay for the industry, due to the horrible sales of their games or just don't enjoy paying you. This compnay is just a loss for the owner for him to use his jet and a political item for his career.

Pros

- Cool employees - Laid back work environment - Flexible times - Company is used as a political chess piece, so it feels like they can't shutdown the company - Opportunity for a personal office as many people have left - Beautiful area that's cheaper than rest of CA - Good stepping stone into the industry

Cons

- Fear of being laid off due to bad games that perform more and more terribly - Horrible pay that is "justified" by the cheaper living expenses - Majority of the upper management is just cashing checks and barely doing their jobs - The middle of nowhere - Lack of motivation due to managers not checking on you, there being no incentives, and no accountability for slacking

Pros

Awesome work/life balance, great coworkers, nice campus, great area.

Cons

Abysmal pay, if you're not a programmer or artist don't count on staying more than a couple years, unless you're willing to work for around half of the industry average AT BEST, with no benefits. Overtime is only time, not time and a half, and you don't get sick days without being an artist or programmer either.
