Pros

Quality ships although not the cream of offshore as they would have you believe.

Cons

Have a very specific offshore support roll. With the world wide down turn in offshore industry; add companies recent build expansion and capital outlay they are fighting to survive. Always very vendictive senior management team never listen to sea going staffs concerns. Computer Safety and ISM maintence programs very very poor. Scapegoat mentality.

Pros

New vessels, decent living conditions. Training courses opportunities. No more pros that I can offer to mention in the current environment.

Cons

Terrible quality of personnel in the drive to expand in the 2010's. The paperwork is over the top and management have a history of persecuting colloquially termed (pineapple fitting). They promote incompetent people and still have issues with alcohol abuse on their vessels even after several incidents. This is now reflecting in their poor financial performance.

Farstad has comprehensive workplace policies.

Cons

Farstad uses its policies to victimise employees. Farstad was found to have seriously breached its own workplace policies in a recent Federal Court case: Romero v Farstad Shipping.
