Pros

Very hard to find pros. As with most companies, you can find some good, ethical people who are willing to work productively together. However, the work environment and corporate culture are poisoned from the top down. Many employees are demoralized.

Cons

No clear company leadership or strategy in the US. The company does not value or respect American employees, much less effectively communicate with them. Promotions and raises are extremely limited. Benefits are fairly weak.

Thank you for taking the time to review Fiducial. We know that the corporate culture was in great need to be changed. We're just sorry you didn't stay to see the change or help change it. We know it is difficult to get though some of the issues, but please remember that we had gone through a trying time with the untimely death of our COO. And please also remember that we are a company owned by the French, but who have a great respect for Americans. We are in the US for that reason. We have been working very hard to move the needle in the right direction for all our employees and have been successful. There is still more needing to be done, but we are proud of the steps taken so far and look forward to the next steps to be taken.

Pros

Met some great people (non-management).

Cons

Leadership in company fails to understand US culture on virtually all levels, especially how to treat employees and the importance and value of the HR function. They are a "reactive" not "proactive" culture that runs the US EXACTLY as they run France, which apparently we heard, worked great for France, but did not equate to success in the US. Turnover rate > 40%.

Thank you for taking the time to review Fiducial. Glad you met some great people. We do have many items to work through. We have made great progress in the last couple of years. We understand that people have a choice in who they work for - and we want Fiducial to be their choice. We have also made great strides concerning increases and the ability to reward those who have contributions above what is expected. We know that the US is different from France and that awareness is allowing us to make decisions based on what is good for Fiducial US. Also, not sure where your numbers came from but we do not have 40+% turnover. But thanks for reviewing - that is helpful to us.

We have read your comments carefully. As we believe Glassdoor is a way for each company to understand what employees think about their company, it should also be a way to improve things and take all necessary actions to remediate significant issues. It is very surprising to read these types of comments for the following reasons: 1) There hasn’t been a tax preparer for over 5 years in the Houston office. 2) Houston is the highest performing branch of Fiducial in the US – this is due to the great Team there and the great leadership of the Branch Manager. 3) Turnover has been very limited in the past 5 years… despite strong economic growth in the US economy – which probably means that the working environment is not that terrible …! 4) We have established a profit sharing program in 2018 to reward employees for their contribution – each of them earned good money in 2018 thanks to this program and hopefully more to come. 5) Fiducial proposes a full set of benefits, from health insurance to 401K matching to paid time-off. We might not propose the best set of benefits but we have a competitive package based on benchmark with our industry. And finally I would add that All of the Fiducial community were very helpful when Harvey devastated the area in August 2017, showing that we are more than just individuals but a Team, from the Managers to the Assistants. So please do not try to destroy the efforts made by very good people in performing their job by simply venting on a public website using a wrong identity. This is unfair and doesn’t help at all. Be more specific and propose vs. criticize. In case you have bright ideas to improve employee healthiness and economic performance that we have not explored yet, you are more than welcome to make your suggestions.
