Pros

FSS have decent clients and work they with good and quality brands such as Ferrero Rocher which is surprisingly good.

Cons

Really really low pay You have to use your own car You don't get company sick pay You don't get 25 days holiday You have to either take a sick day or holiday to go to a funeral (even if immediate family) This is a really shocking company who treat their field sales team appallingly. The management encourage their teams to lie about what they shiver just so that numbers look good. It is all about cutting costs. When bad snow stopped a lot of the field force from going to work, their pay was docked. People not paid for the jobs they are doing.

Thanks for your feedback, we always welcome this and treat it as an opportunity to continue to improve and learn as a team . As you have taken the time to give us some feedback, we would like to take the time to address each of your points in turn. With regard to salary; we do review our salary structure regularly comparing it to other similar roles and have found it to continue to be in line with the industry norm. We have, however, now implemented a bonus structure for the Retail Development Executive role to provide a financial reward for achievement of KPIs and this enables everyone to increase their earning potential. We do provide statuary sick pay in alignment with government legislations, as long as we receive all relevant documents to enable us to do so. Whilst we do not provide a company vehicle for the Retail Development Executive role, we do provide a competitive fuel re-imbursement rate which is above industry standard in most cases and covers not only the cost of fuel but also contributes towards the running cost of your own vehicle. We do take our employees welfare seriously and I am sorry to hear that you did not get paid time off to attend the funeral of an immediate family member as we do have a bereavement policy in place that supports this. We do provide 20 days plus bank holidays as part of the remuneration package which is also in line with industry standard for this role. Thanks again for your feedback and we would like to wish you good luck in your career.

Pros

Ferrero is a great brand to work with and the majority of the core products are good sellers. You can have a laugh with some retailers and the other reps will support you.

Cons

Over two years I have had four different managers which means no consistency towards our personal development. You are selling stock from the van but you have to buy your stock from the most expensive source so stores are not interested in speaking to you. Bonus has been reduced and is very poor for a sales role. No incentive to hit targets. Salaries are poor for the role. You are paid for 8 hours a day. You are more likely to do about 10 hours a day with no break to get round your calls as the questionnaire is getting longer and you need to do about half an hour worth of paperwork which you don't get paid for. Be prepared to work 11 hour days which work out less than minimum wage. All the field trainers also left about a year ago so for the whole of 2018 we have had no training. No opportunities to develop. Even the sales reps on the shining stars program have left. All the other reps from Cadburys, Mars and Nestle provide a loyalty scheme and free stock while Ferrero offer zero. They will not even let us swap out of date stock even if we sold it to the stores which puts you on the back foot. Be prepared for grumpy and abusive retailers in this role and retailers have banned reps from the store or refused to speak to us. Retailers will ask daily for free stock and help for out of date product and we can't do anything. The journey plans are horrendous and make zero sense. I asked for changes and month after month nothing happened. You may drive an hour between stores if you follow the journey plan. This has happened over the last two years. Head office do not care about individual problems and treat you like you are bothering them if you email or phone the head office support. Over the past year they have gone from a sales force of about 35 to 16 rdr's which says it all about the account which is now toxic. Unfortunately the top managers only care about the new Ireland account and Grocery. 2019 is looking very bleak as we are no longer allowed to keep offer stock as we have to return it on a weekly basis. We used to be able to buy stock just before an offer ended and keep it for about a month meaning we had lower price stock for longer but going forward will need to return every week so this is no longer an option. This will hit our retailers and demotivate the reps. If you want to develop and explore other channels or other accounts like the Proctor and Gamble account you will get a slammed door in the face. For some reason they would prefer good employees to leave rather than give people opportunities to grow.

Pros

ferrero is a good brand to work with.

Cons

Staff were asked to post on glassdoor to get better ratings so don't believe all 'good reviews' you read! Staff are brainwashed by management into thinking and operating a certain way. It is a highly arrogant business. Stress levels are high amongst everyone, work life balance is poor and micro-management is common. Ferrero operates a blame culture, and because they manage to create their own Ferrero 'bubble' , staff begin to accept it as a normal way to work. Stay too long and you become 'Ferrero-ised'. Bullying is not uncommon and largely ignored by management; promotions are given only to those whose 'face fits', which results in management positions being filled by people with poor or no man management skills and not suited to the roles. No support or training is offered to fill the skill gap. Nepotism is rife; back-stabbing is evident in certain functions, as are 'inappropriate' work relationships. Management and HR ignores it all. Combined with the fact that everyone is overworked, this all makes the environment highly toxic and extremely unpleasant. AVOID.
