Pros

Good training program and beverage education program. It is a good place to work if you are in school or if you plan making a career in the service industry. 401K plan

Cons

When I started it had a real inclusive family feel and felt like my opinion mattered. Over the years it became more corporate like many big chain restaurants I began to see the service staff commoditized and my opinions mattered much less. There became a double standard concerning accountability between staff and management. I also was making less money than when I started even though the restaurant was making record profits. No health insurance offered either...

Pros

Co-workers become family; fun place to work and community involvement opportunities. Extremely supportive and service-oriented management - felt from the top down. Attitude that each employee (no matter the position) is seen as equally valuable and is given respect and dignity - "no one is above anyone else" attitude is aimed for. Great, loyal, and generous customer base creating more steady business than you will find at most restaurants. Continual training in guest service, company values, and especially product knowledge. Employees are kept in-the-know about menu/ingredient changes and company news/changes. Great employee perks, and management takes interest in employee feedback. Ever-developing menu to keep things interesting, yet staple best-sellers remain to keep consistency. Consistently fresh and quality ingredients - delicious food and beverages you can be proud to sell.

Cons

Not much in the way of cons - just work with others, maintain a good attitude, and keep it low-drama! If you are in Atlanta's service industry, this is an optimal company to work for!

Great company--not for everyone

Pros

Thoughtful in terms of growth and expansion. Focus on service--you are empowered to create great experiences for your guests. The opportunity to work with a handful of extremely talented and passionate professionals. The chance to work as an operator, not just a manager. Challenging environment. Great feedback and development of your skills. Offering of health insurance (including FSA/HSA), 401K, dining cards, and generous manager discounts at all restaurants. Noble efforts towards recycling and composting. Bonus structure. Great vision. Food & Beverage Director.

Cons

Often poor quality of life due to long hours and unrealistic demands. Feedback can be overly critical. Don't expect to be rewarded or shown much appreciation. In fact, this company is all about what more you can be doing or what you're not doing well. Often changes are implemented and then revised without the proper time to see them successfully managed. There is a huge support team, but everyone is constantly buried and are not always that helpful or responsive. Lots of systems, procedures, administrative work, and check lists. Tons of disconnect between upper management.
