No compassion for the hardest working people
Pros
-It's a paycheck -The hours don't change that often
Cons
-Trucks are garbage (no AC, frequent break-downs, borderline unsafe to be in) -'Surface nice' office staff that, in all actuality, don't care at all -Extremely hard work for the pay -No accountability for anyone that screws up -Comradery to the level of alienation of new people -Company insurance will only help the owners like you (I could go into that) -Essentially you're fired if you get injured -Definitely a 'managers and his buddies sit around while we do everything' kinda job -If they don't like you, they put you on a difficult route (lots of stops, lots of cases, et cetera) -I knew people that worked there for 10+ years and got skipped on a promotion or an easier route by some new hire that the boss went drinking with -Manager once "demoted" a driver that got a DUI to assist manager and sit in the office
