- Pay was ALWAYS very late and never on time in the 8/9 months I worked there and no apologies were ever given for this. Even after raising late pay (and incorrect pay) as a concern with the CEO and the only payroll staff member, nothing was done showing employee concerns are not taken seriously or listened to. - Low pay, especially for the amount of work and responsibility required for the role. For minimum wage, I’d recommend working literally anywhere else. - No real room for career progression. - Poor staff retention. They go through employees like cheese through a grater. - Management takes advantage of employing uni students and uses this as an opportunity to exploit staff and underpay them below the contracted salary (>£1.5k was missing from my final pay). They did not pay any of my holiday pay or the correct basic pay after polite and persistent contact, and ignored my communication until I threatened legal action. Only then was my pay corrected. Other issues regarding pay and tax have still not been corrected after several months of me leaving and entering into a different job. - Overworked and overlooked. Oftentimes, the CEO and COO would impose time-consuming tasks on me that were not encompassed in my contract/job description and no appreciation was given after these tasks were completed within the timeframe requested. - No career support given (which doesn’t matter hugely to me) but because it was largely emphasised in the interview that career mentoring would be available, I expected there to be some. This was false as the “career mentor” does not do any work and is certainly not there to encourage you to enter your chosen field or even to help you within FMC despite their previous claims.
