Pros

There are no pros whatsoever.

Cons

FCTG is a cult and a well-disguised MLM. You will be promised grand rewards for selling and have no promises delivered. In your group interview they’ll tell you that 98% of novices go to global and you’ll be making roughly $55k a year. It’s all lies. The company do not give a second thought about you. During October of 2020 they held a zoom conference with all of the “stood down” staff and told us how great of a financial position they were in and that the money they had would keep them in business for the next 4 years - and then in November they fired 10,000 of us because “oh we can’t afford you because, pandemic.” There is nothing positive about this company. If you want to be able to pay rent this month, go anywhere else. They hide behind “uncapped commission” and “you get out what you put in” but they don’t give a damn about you. You can (and will) put your blood, sweat and tears into this company and they will still tell you you’re not trying hard enough and punish you for not making more money. There is no work/life balance. They throw extravagant booze fuelled compulsory outside of work hours events to make you believe they care and to make you believe that being paid less than minimum wage is okay - but it is not. They will punish you when a high commission earning employee physically assaults you at a Christmas party because you defended yourself and fought back. They only protect the ones who bring them more money. If you value your happiness and financial stability, for the love of god, please work somewhere else.

Pros

I made some good friends and got 10-15% travel discounts in the 2 years I worked for Flight Centre.

Cons

Management encourages you to 'mark up' prices to make higher commissions. You are shamed if your commission is low for the month. Very low salary and extremely competitive. Forced to come to work 30 mins early every day for an unpaid morning meeting, and 1 hour early weekly for an unpaid 'weekly business meeting'. You are expected to answer client calls and emails outside of work hours and there is lots of unpaid overtime. You must attend mandatory monthly unpaid 'buzz nights' where high achievers are celebrated.

Pros

Hard to find any. I've worked there for 5 years, won lots of awards being the top consultant in the area, got free bottles of wine for it, so generous. Even in my best year working literally 24/7 I wouldn't make more than 70k a year

Cons

Minimum pay Competition between consultants, your colleagues will gladly steal you customers Culture based on drinking (even in store during work hours) and drugs usr Manager of one of the stores I've worked for was a bully, people just wouldn't stay there longer than a couple of months and still no action taken towards her when I reported it, since she is friends with the area leader. What a joke. So many better options in current job market. Trust the reviews and don't even bother to apply
