RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Pros

The standards bar is set very low. "The Fortegra Way" is a common phraseology as an excuse for how things are done. They have implemented a social media team to respond to negative comments.

Cons

No remote work opportunities. Locks on the 1st floor bathroom doors. (no access) CEO threats to monitor bathroom usage with security cameras and assign an attendant. (has already implemented security cameras and been leveraged) CEO threats not to eat at desk. (Many employees end up eating in their car in the parking lot) Salary freeze that do not even compensate for cost of living adjustments. Promises of bonuses that change and/or never occur. Smaller cubes with lower partition walls in the new reality of COVID-19. Rules for thee but not for me management mentality. (i.e. -> employees are told can't have personal effects on desks but administrative services manager's office is filled with them, as well as others)

Pros

Nothing to add in this company

Cons

- unprofessional and poor management people that doesn't care about the hard work that you put into - Racist, discrimination, specially if you are a minority - High employee turnover and the company doesn't do anything about it. In less than a year, the company lost more than half of the accounting and finance department due to poor management and treatment. - the company doesn't care about the safety of the employees. They force you to come to the office during a hurricane or tropical storm. - no flexibility to work from home, even if the company provide laptops. - unprofessional emails from the CEO - toxic work environment - the managers never help you in case you have a question. Specially in the accounting department, some of them are rude if you are asking a question

Pros

The pros for working at Fortegra: free lunch. The CEO likes to threaten to take them away so do not count on this in the future.

Cons

Your mental health may be affected. This company prides itself on integrity, however everyone is not treated equally. Discrimination is very prevalent and so are the political views within the company. If you want to be micromanaged and chained to your desk for 8 hours a day, this is the place for you. I could not get out fast enough!
