Pros

The healthcare benefits, PTO and culture committees/events are a nice perk to have while working for FCC.

Cons

Even though there is a focus on the company's culture, the office culture is pretty toxic. The corporate structure is pretty murky with no clear indications of who is responsible for what, or what the business priorities are. There is a concerning lack of vision for the future from upper management/CEO with any recommendations outside of a certain circle of people being completely squashed. Clients/Customers are rarely considered when making decisions and the focus seems to be only on how to get a quick piece of revenue and run.

Bad place to work

Pros

Biggest newspaper in region. Easy to get wide readership of your work.

Cons

Don't believe how Forum Communications promotes itself. It may be family owned but it acts like a big corporation. It cares only about money and starves its newsroom. It has too few reporters to cover a metro area of Fargo's size. The editor is arrogant and thinks he's always right. Nobody respects him. The news editor is unwilling to disagree with him. They have little faith in their reporters. Reporters with ambition or principles don't stay long. It's not a fun place to work. And the health insurance was the worst I've ever had, worse than ACA coverage.
