Pros

Very rewarding work! The training process adequately prepares you for being a photographer and you learn how to make meaningful connections with people of all ages and backgrounds. The staff is incredibly positive, supportive, and work hard to build up the confidence of their new employees. It’s empowering to see how much growth is made through the whole process. Pay is reasonable and the tips definitely help!

Cons

This job does require lots of hard work, and growth in any capacity is difficult. The learning curve with starting out full time after the shadowing period is taxing but I’m looking forward to the growth and making it past the hardest part!!

Pros

-The most advanced photography training you will receive. The owner is a third (?) generation photographer and has been in the industry most of his life. He has a thorough training process that is second to none. It’s very intense at first but absolutely worth It. There are also opportunities to further your training as you continue to work for FotoFly. -You will develop a close relationship with your coworkers. We are a family here! The environment is fun and lighthearted. Unless there needs to be seriousness... -You get to play with kiddos all day long! Who doesn’t love that? -You capture lifelong memories for these families and there is nothing more rewarding than that. The stories you’ll hear and experiences that some of the clients have been through are life changing! A lot of clients will become like family to you and those relationships will last a lifetime. -Pay! The other reviews complain about pay which is strange to me. You get a base pay plus tips. When you add the two together, you’re making way more an hour than most other jobs at an entry level. Your tip amount is ultimately in your control. If you deliver great service, you get a higher tip and that equates to a bigger pay check!

Cons

-Schedule. Sometimes you can’t work the schedule you want. The schedule is built to fill customer needs, not your own. When you start to genuinely care about clients, this isn’t a big deal. I know I struggled with It in the beginning but It isn’t an issue anymore. -No benefits. As much as I’d like benefits, this company is a small business. Most small businesses do not offer benefits. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. -Occasional lack of communication. Every once in awhile things will get missed and It can be frustrating at times. The communication has gotten much better over the years, and they are constantly trying to improve it. There is definitely room to grow though.

Pros

Amazing place to be at, it’s my dream job! I’m amazing with kids and are so far ahead of photographers here in Utah, it’s super hard to put everything that’s amazing about Fotofly in this small box. I have loved every minute!

Cons

If you don’t have a real strive for photography, and you don’t really like kids, you could struggle here. There are points where it gets hard, but that drive should push you through all of it easily!
