Working here is the start of your demise

Pros

Benefits are pretty good for the most part

Cons

Company changes directions every week. You’ll be on Zoom with someone then see they’re deactivated because they got fired. There are no “working hours”. You work all the time.

Pros

Compensation is good, but it comes at a significant personal cost.

Cons

Leadership is chaotic and expectations are constantly changing (without ever being well-defined). Fountain has always been male-dominated, but the recent exodus of the few "influential" female figures left at the company has been staggering. There is a clear divide within the organization, especially since Clevy took over product and engineering. The Sales Team is often stuck selling concepts rather than actual products, limiting what the SC team can demo as the engineering team races to build the latest SKU. It is unsurprising how many customers churn (or how quickly). The CEO is both unstable and unpredictable. I can't even count the number of times I've logged onto Slack to find several of my highest-performing co-workers deactivated. Layoffs happen in waves and without explanation, leaving those of us still left in a constant state of anxiety. There is zero job security, no matter how good your performance reviews are, yet we continue to pour everything we have into this place at our own expense. The hours are brutal - especially for US-based team members with leadership in Europe. The company expects you to always be online, frequently checking your Slack status to ensure your adherence to this unspoken rule. In short, it is an extremely toxic work environment that actively encourages backstabbing in the name of self-preservation. Every single person I know who has managed to get away (i.e. find a new job) is both happier and healthier for it. I have never worked so hard for a company that left me feeling this insecure and anxiety-ridden. My only hope is to find a new role before I'm swept up in the next round of layoffs.
