Companies (and their emoloyees) purchased by FP: beware
Pros
Apparently an amazing PR firm and/or legal representation which can fool and blindside even the most diligent, honest, genuine business owners
Cons
FP claims to be different from other private equity firms. They sell an image of a firm that embraces quality employees and quality products, and enables both to achieve scalability. While they do identify ways to "scale", they DO NOT embrace quality emoloyees or quality product. In my experience, they took a unique company and applied off the shelf scalability that resulted in loss of talented, loyal emoloyees as well as degradation of product quality. If you work for a company that is being evaluated by FP, or has been purchased by FP, update your resume and prepare to get out. If you own a company that is being evaluated by FP, and if your employees and/or the integrity or spirit of your product are important to you, please, please, PLEASE reconsider.
