Pros
Working with other local property management teams was a positive experience from me. For a short time, one of the regionals even made sure we constantly did events together and bonded as a team.
Cons
Everything else. When I came aboard, I was enticed with this vision of a company of the future. They hired so many amazing rockstars in the local industry to come and help the company get there. During this time it was a good place. As time went on, I began to find out the truth about the company. Pay: First of all, no raises. I worked there for two years and no raises were issued out. This was the most common complaint as they require all properties to be 100% or they were failing. Due to this extreme standard being met constantly through much sacrifice and hard work, many were hoping to be compensated and they weren't. They also promised huge bonuses to make up for this, but despite prodding from even Regionals, they would go back on their word on this and when they did give one bonus, it was 10% of what was promised. This was the most popular reason of people leaving on property and corporate level. Corporate: They claimed to promote a healthy work/balance lifestyle, yet I saw how they asked so many people to give so much. They would just say whatever needs to be done to get the job done so not to explicitly contradict themselves, but all who disobeyed this got fired. They also cared little for property management staff and wouldn't let anyone except property managers participate in CVAA events unless it was a special exception. Lastly, communication and implementation was so poor. When they swapped property management software, it led to many billing issues among other things. they guaranteed for months it would work and to inform our residents of this. Then month after month, I would have to apologize and give them the same line. The worst part is they would always pressure us to vote them as the "Top Place to Work" to maintain this false image of people liking it there. Vendor Relations: Frequently services would be suspended because corporate would not pay bills. I can't even keep track of the number of times services were suspended at my property because another property wasn't paid up or corporate just didn't cut a check. Management: They expanded really quickly in the course of a year and as result ended up losing a lot of what they took on because they couldn't keep the owners who they were managing for happy. Do not be fooled. The local property management teams were amazing, but this company is terrible and continues to run people on the corporate and local level.
