Pros

The colleagues I worked with on my immediate team were wonderful. Honestly, this place could have a lot of potential if it weren't for upper management, but they are beyond hope.

Cons

I originally posted my review in February 2019. It was the first review for this company on Glassdoor. When management saw it, they immediately began asking other employees to cover it up with 5 star reviews, even going so far as to bribe them with Amazon gift cards. Please be wary of the positive reviews here - many are not genuine and they have also taken efforts to get negative reviews removed (e.g. mine). I am now a (very happy) former employee and want others who are considering working here to be aware of what they are getting into. These guys are all about covering up their shady dealings and their toxic workplace, rather than taking steps to actually improve conditions. I have never before seen a company where upper management treats their employees with such disdain. Here is a small handful of the things I witnessed or was part of while working at this company: *An employee was berated by a member of upper management for using their (legally mandated) break to shop online (on Amazon, we're not talking anything weird here), and was called "a waste of space who completely lacks integrity" *Employees were asked to doctor customer utility bills so that they could install more panels on their homes than they needed *A few colleagues were called into a conference room filled with staff unrelated to their jobs to be screamed at (and I mean it, screamed at) by a member of upper management for shortcomings completely unrelated to their jobs. We all just sat there very uncomfortably but could not speak up for fear of also being included in the screaming. These pathetic and petty attempts at public humiliation were not a rare occurrence. *All employees were legally terminated and re-hired under a new company name (Freedom Solar to Freedom Forever) so that they could escape their horrible Yelp reviews (god forbid they work on fixing the problems customers were complaining about instead, but again nothing is ever their fault). This involved a TON of work as the companies had to actually entirely separate, so there was a massive migration effort. All to get away from bad Yelp reviews which, surprise, still happened under the new company name since nothing actually changed. *When we moved to the new company name, the company paid customers with Amazon gift cards in exchange for positive Yelp reviews (yes, this is against Yelp's ToS). Another surprise, the bad reviews still outweighed the purchased positive ones. Honestly, I could go on forever about the terrible way this company treats its employees and its customers. You'll never see any positivity for employees who perform well, but you can be sure your job will be threatened by upper management at any small mistake. There is no work life balance - management expects you to devote yourself to the job, constantly touts that anyone should feel honored to work here (while offering no benefits or incentives that might actually make people feel that way), and anything less is chastised as a poor attitude or work ethic. No other solar company I've worked for acts this way towards their employees. It's not uncommon for people to quit within their first week when they see what a horrible environment there is here. People also get fired left and right so nobody feels secure in their jobs (to the point where it is a constant running joke around the office).

Pros

Good money, vacation time, a game room and "team" building activities.

Cons

Shady business practices, they WILL build half baked projects without permits on a regular basis just to keep the checks rolling in. Work (mostly) with people without technical knowledge of the industry, or electrical code that'll require you to fix their mistakes on your plans while. They won't listening to your comments on how to improve (BE PREPARED TO REDESIGN A SINGLE PROJECT 4, 5 OR 6 TIMES ON A WHIM). If you want to work here, there's money to be made but your work wont be appreciated (even though they'll tell you it is). Get in, make some money, get out. Most people here are great, this place, not so much.

Pros

Some of the employees are OK people.

Cons

Extremely poor management run by very conservative, under qualified people. Employees are treated as disposable cogs, morale is completely decimated. Lawsuits are being filed like crazy. Extremely cult-like atmosphere. Lots of drama, blame games, finger pointing, and scapegoating. Lots of questionable activity. CEO (convicted of fraud in FL) has a power/submission complex that is forced upon all employees and contractors. I was brought on to repair the already damaged relationships with contractors. After building up a department from scratch despite being denied the proper resources and having white management repeatedly steal and claim my concepts as their own, they actively destroyed all of my work. I had been warned by other previous employees of color that the company does not treat minorities well. Towards the end, my typical day consisted of being called, texted, and emailed by contractors and their attorneys looking for overdue payments from 4am until 11pm, 7 days a week while higher management and accounts payable refused to respond. COVID was handled horribly (they stopped Direct Deposit and forced employees to go onsite and physically collect paper checks). HR department is also extremely poor quality and unresponsive. You will not be helped by them for anything. Worst company I have ever worked for, would not wish this place upon my worst enemy.
