"Tired Slackers screwing around, lots of /facepalm or Why??? here"
Fuel suffers from FAR too many producers and management vs ratio of actual workers.
These management contradict, and hurt performance, and stifle upward communication.
While they mess about, and have plenty of meetings, your workLoad grows, and gets confusing.
Although they promote YAY FUEL!, its really celebrating the owners, and has nothing to do with you, or your co-workers. A lot of fake bravado. The new hires always fall for this.
The True nature of Fuel is to keep 'fueling' the owners + favorites $$, while fooling the disposable resources into doing the bare minimum to scrape by. Its more CarSalesman Operation, than mature work environment.
Its not uncommon for 3 different producers to approach you, asking totally different things.
Tough. Deal with it.
Then your manager asks what the hell have you been doing?
Tough, Deal with it. Too Bad.
(True, some companies are like this, but they pay you far far better!... hmm)
Its hard to actually do any real work with the number of interruptions. This results in many people actually working late into evening. Can you shutUp and let people work already? This isn't highSchool. Meetings with people that have no purpose being in said meeting.Talking for the sake of talking. Yep, that's productive!
Fuel sells hard shiny projects! (desperation?) but develops cheap, and shallow. Its more a sales company for poor product development. The older games are total crap, and nobody thinks to get rid of them? Quality control? Pfff
Management will blame the little guy, and "dispose" people rather than shoulder any blame. Reputation among their own social pecking order is far cooler, and important. But HEYYYY we will gladly take your accomplishments as our own, and not mention you. Ok ok.. goodjob /ya ya, shoo, go away. This is our win, not yours. No you can't have a raise, don't be silly now. Now go back to your holding-pen... yes... go back there, put on the chains + ball-gag.
Obvious favoritism.
Clicky, hipster environment, if you don't fit in, you're not really part of the company. If you're not "IN", nobody really pays you any notice. Some people are clearly 'disposable' Even as you meet them on their 1st day. Its sad. Its like you know that 'guy' will be gone in 3months, but poor fella doesn't even know it yet.
Company Culture is : "Your life is Fuel now, hang out, work, play, gaming, killing time reading twitter and time wasting, breaking code/builds, no big deal, its all just drama + mushrooms. And don't challenge any of the old crowd on improving anything." There are days where you will see "the favorites" wasting a couple hours exchanging funny internet jokes. No work being done. Don't point this out however. Tsk Tsk.
There's plenty talented honest hardworking people here, who likely would do much better elsewhere. Many people are being flat exploited, and most are getting very poor pay. Sometimes people just vanish. And it causes a rift among others "What hap'd to X?"
Parking your car is a joke. How do you feel about moving your car daily during the day?
Every company has its problems, however in Fuel's case, its a code smelly mess, being frankly negligent/ clueless with its workers. An Old Boys Club, the hip are having fun, and using/abusing + disposing everyone else.
