Pros

Fantastic experience to build a community in another country while developing leadership, responsibility, and teaching skills.

Cons

Rotational schools meant less face time with the same kids every day, but more wide exposure across broader backgrounds.

Pros

You will be challenged. You will meet people you'll love forever and people you'll wonder how and why they decided to spend a year abroad. You will learn how to teach children, how to communicate without language, how to communicate in foreign languages. You will be a better person by the end.

Cons

A lot of ETAs underestimate the required workload. This is a 9-to-5 teaching position at its core. If these folks are in your cohort it can make collaborative tasks difficult. 99.9% of Fulbrighters are the coolest, sweetest people you've ever met. 0.01% are social climbers that have no respect for their host country or the culture they are interacting with, and are only here to get the Fulbright name on their resume.
