Pros

Salary is decent while you have the job. Nothing else comes to my mind.

Cons

The company hired 8-9 people within 15-20 days and then within 2 weeks of employment they inform everyone to return laptop on same day as the work is no longer required to be performed. Everyone is let go on same day. Everyone is told that all employees are being let go since contract is being cancelled. Then 2 employees get call next day and are offered to keep the job and they keep is secret from rest of the team. Don't work here at any cost. I have never seen such an unethical employer ever.

Pros

It's almost a given, if you threaten to quit you'll get a raise! Then once you get that raise you'll get all sorts of special assignments middle management doesn't feel like doing. Your peers are what make this company tolerable to work with. The guys in the trenches you work with side by side every day. You want to do well for them. Salary is decent.

Cons

Middle management is lazy and inexperienced, acts superior in a demeaning way to the employees they work for, and would throw them under the bus in a second to save themselves. Senior management either doesn't care about this or doesn't know. Either way it's bad for the employee. If employees try to voice an opinion or speak up then middle management will say and I quote, "You guys are a bunch of babies.." or "Awww, poor you!". Moral is the lowest it’s ever been and most people I work with are actively looking for other opportunities. Fulcrum has had a retention problem for over a year now with no signs of getting better. The experience and knowledge of the workforce used to be what set Fulcrum apart from just another IT company. Key SME's have gotten fed up and left because they don't like the direction current leadership is going. Management has decided that instead of trying to retain these people they'd rather act like they don't exist, bad mouth them once they leave, and fill those spots with warm bodies that don't have the same experience level.

Lots of potential ruined by management.

Pros

Fulcrum has some very smart and capable people who truly care about the products and services they provide. The work itself can be rewarding and challenging. Work/life balance is good for some. Decent wages and benefits. Potential for advancement for the ambitious, depending on position. Not at all a bad place to start if you need a job.

Cons

Management is some of the worst I have ever encountered. There are a few management cliques full of incompetent people with poor management skills that stay in power through mutual support of each other, rather than any employees. The company on the whole has very poor understanding of personnel management and the value of expertise. Expect to be demeaned, disrespected, and blatantly lied to while management quite literally cackles about it. I wish this were sour grapes, I really do, for the sake of the remaining employees, but it really is that bad. Those smart and capable people? There used to be a LOT of those, but have been driven away over time, with more likely to follow. Clients have also started to take notice, and Fulcrum has lost a number of important contracts, and is very likely to lose more, so I would not put too much faith in any job you take with this company lasting for a long time. They have engaged in pretty questionable billing practices as well, so even if management doesn't run the company into the ground, the government may take notice of that and shut them down anyway. Some positions regularly put in lots of overtime with little or no compensation, or sign that management notices, cares, or plans to correct the situation by hiring more people or improving process. I really don't know if management just that unaware of what they have done, or doesn't care, but the effect is the same.
