Pros

The East Coast businesses (acquired by Geniux mid 2024) used to have a strong foundation, loyal customer base, and highly skilled staff who genuinely cared about their work and the clients. There was a real sense of pride in these regional teams, and they played a key role in the company's success. Unfortunately, any remaining pros have been wiped out by mismanagement at the top since this acquisition. The people on the ground (East Coast) are hardworking and dedicated (but they are set up to fail)

Cons

This company is currently in serious decline, driven by incompetent leadership and reckless decision-making. The so-called "leadership" is more concerned with ego-driven power plays than the success of the business or the well-being of its employees. The CEO is running a destructive dictatorship. He operates with misguided overconfidence and zero accountability, overriding experienced staff, dismissing concerns, and dismantling core functions of the business. Despite repeated warnings from staff at all levels, leadership refuses to listen. Advice from experienced professionals is consistently ignored, dismissed, or overridden in favour of destructive decisions that have left the business in tatters. East Coast teams have been stripped of their core strengths. Operations are completely exposed to failure. Key staff have been terminated in a rude, unprofessional manner, often by email. Remaining staff are overloaded, frustrated and demoralised. The admin team (based in Perth) runs everything — poorly. They ignore queries, fail to process basic tasks like supplier payments, and lack accountability. Meanwhile, East Coast staff are expected to cover for these failures, wasting their time on basic admin instead of driving business outcomes. The culture is toxic, and the business is being actively destroyed from the top down. Leadership is completely out of touch with reality, behaving as if they’re still running a small business, oblivious to the legal, financial, and operational risks they are creating. The constant dysfunction and mismanagement make it impossible to do your job effectively. The CEO’s leadership is the single biggest threat to this company's future. Since taking over the East Coast operations, his reckless decisions have completely dismantled these businesses, stripping them of their core strengths and leaving them on the verge of collapse. He claims to be making the "hard calls," but his actions reflect arrogance, overconfidence, and a dangerous lack of understanding of what makes these businesses work. Key staff have resigned due to his poor leadership, or been forced out in "restructures" and more resignations are ongoing. This mass exodus of talent is crippling the business, and it’s clear that staff have absolutely no faith in his leadership or the company's direction. What’s worse is that this could have been avoided. Employees tried to raise concerns and offer solutions, but the CEO repeatedly ignored their advice. He continues to override everyone, even after repeatedly making public commitments that he wouldn’t “break anything else.” He has clearly proven time and time again that he is a liar and cannot be trusted. His leadership style can only be described as a dictatorship. He’s focused on maintaining control at all costs, regardless of the damage he's doing to the business. The East Coast operations are now set up to fail, and it’s impossible to succeed under these conditions. The CEO seems completely oblivious to the long-term impact of his decisions. Morale across the company is at an all-time low. Staff aren’t just unhappy—they’re hopeless. The CEO’s refusal to listen and his negligent leadership have created a culture of frustration and disillusionment. People are exhausted from battling against his poor decisions and are choosing to leave. This is no longer a case of poor leadership—it’s complete negligence. The CEO’s actions have destroyed the East Coast businesses, alienated loyal staff and customers, and put the company’s future in jeopardy. Unless there’s a significant change at the top, this company will continue to spiral downward. The company is haemorrhaging valuable talent, and it's only a matter of time before more staff leave or the business collapses altogether. If you're considering joining, think twice. You're likely walking into a disaster waiting to happen. Toxic leadership No accountability Incompetent admin team Unprofessional treatment of employees Extremely poor communication

Bullying, Breakdowns, Micromanaging

Pros

East Coast teams are extremely supportive

Cons

Where do you start... The CEO is a bully, liar, degrading, thinks the world revolves around him, micromanages, sets every single person up for failure and could not care less. His word, both written and verbal, mean nothing. He has been previously bankrupt and was fined and convicted for managing a company while disqualified. (this can be googled to confirm). His is dangerous, cannot be trusted and you need to protect yourself against this. He's caused several people staff, ex staff and even customers to have breakdowns directly from his actions and abuse and there have even been multiple EOL attempts caused by him. He has no regard for anyone's safety, or well being. He does not believe in process to obtain a good consistent business outcome and in fact, belittles anyone that tries to do a good job, often publicly. If he does not agree with you - against all advice, he will override you and again likely publicly attack you over this. He then tries to blame everyone but himself for anything that goes wwrong. He is incapable of taking responsibility for his actions. And no better than a toddler in this regard. His corporate Perth and offshore team are no better - they are too scared of him and just follow like sheep despite also being treated this way. This is why those incompetent people are still employed as he thinks they are his supporters. This is the most toxic environment I have been in ever. Super is unpaid, often pays are late. Suppliers are not paid. They don't care about any of this. "oh well" Promises are made, never kept. You are constantly ignored. Suppliers are being forced to engage lawyers for what is owed to them due to this business refusing to respond and breaching of commitments. Staff are bring ripped off by promises that are not kept (Eg promotions) or being put in unreasonable compromising positons that leave them personally exposesd. Staff are being overworked having to pick up slack due to removal of entire teams. For example why are the field electricians being forced to do all of the office administration support work as well, whuch takes them away from revenue producing work ... They used to have the teams that were efficient, proactive, intelligent, effective and knew what to do - but the CEO discarded all of them a brutal damaging way (and all of the process for how to get it done well) in preference for his incompetent team - and then he hired more - and they are useless and fail to do their jobs yet the CEO praises them leaving the rest of the business in pain. Simply put you will leave this businsess battered, scarred and broken after being beaten and abused to within an inch of your life. You will not be respected in any way. Do not trust the CEO or the corporate Perth team at all. Do not trust a job offer as he has been often known to hire with no intention of keeping the person which is completely unfair on them.

Worst Place I have ever worked - Toxic CEO

Pros

You'll likely get promoted if the CEO or Perth Head Office Corporate like you, even if you are incompetent - as long as you live in Perth or Bali. The East Coast businesses are amazing and supportive. Not a single person supports the CEO in the business so there is unity.

Cons

* The CEO is incompetent, a liar and an egotisitcal, arrogant, selfish manipulative micromanaging bully. Unfortunately, he delusionly thinks he knows it all and won't listen to anyone at all. "Captains calls" are his way of compulsively always getting his own way - he does not care at all about anyone other than himself. * The CEO makes bad decisions with zero regard for the consequences, against all advice and then blames others when it goes wrong * Corporate treat everyone (internal and external ) like dirt - how they treat and disrespect people is absolutely appalling * Corporate do not respond to anyone, internal or external - they actively ignore * If you don't live in Perth you are discriminated against * Paying suppliers and staff is not important - it is not uncommon for pays to be late and they do not care * The business is a service business with no customer service - the CEO in fact actively removed the entire customer service team and related key support staff and did not care about the consequences - despite everyone else in the business fighting and opposing his insistent insane brand and morale damaging decision * Complaints are unacknowledged and completely ignored * Team chats are misused by corporate and people are publicly berated or things are posted that should be private * The CEO is known to publicly threaten staff if they disagree with him * Everyone is setup to fail and actively prevented from doing your job on every turn (eg someone was refused access to a critical system and all attempts to rectify this were ignored) * The CEO is known to send unreasonable demands with short deadlines, often all out of hours. * The business is pushing everyone in the business towards burnout or quitting - A direct result from the CEO's direct and scathing words and actions is many people having breakdowns (and unfortunately much much worse in some instances) and many people are, at minimum, looking for an alternate job to leave this hostile, intimidating dictatorship
