Pros

Pros: Opportunity for Learning and Growth: Working in a data center environment provides exposure to a wide range of technologies and infrastructure systems. You'll have the chance to learn about and work with cutting-edge equipment and practices, which can enhance your skill set and career prospects. Critical Role in Mission-Critical Operations: Data centers are the backbone of many businesses, supporting mission-critical applications and services. As a Data Centre Operations Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of these operations, which can be personally rewarding. Variety of Tasks and Challenges: The job involves a mix of operational tasks, troubleshooting, project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders. This variety can keep the job interesting and provide opportunities to tackle new challenges and develop problem-solving skills.

Cons

Cons: High Pressure and Responsibility: Working in a data center environment comes with high levels of responsibility, as any downtime or issues can have significant consequences for the business. This can result in high-pressure situations and the need to respond quickly and decisively to critical events. Physical Demands and Work Conditions: The job may require physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and being exposed to noisy and sometimes hazardous environments. This can lead to physical strain and discomfort, especially for those not accustomed to such conditions. On-Call Requirements and Shift Work: Data center operations often require 24/7 coverage, leading to on-call rotations and non-traditional working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This can disrupt work-life balance and impact personal commitments and social life.

Pros

They have only managed to employ 300 people in the UK and most are quitting at the moment It's common knowledge that the business is shrinking so potentially will not be around for very long

Cons

Too many to list but mainly, the executive team are completely inept in their roles and appear to behave in exclusively morally corrupt ways. Behaviours are shocking I cannot honestly say what executives in this business do most of the day; they have no plans, no strategy, no clue what our operations look like or how to improve No strategy, truly random actions and general bullying of employees on a daily basis. Formal complaints treated as a joke and people generally victimised until they are forced to quit

Pros

Above average salary in hand but that's because there are no industry standard benefits.

Cons

GFT Germany bought a company called 'Rule Financial' which is now called GFT consulting North America, this a group of 'x- Rule Financial' close knit people who were used of doing work in their own way but now struggling to follow a process governed by GFT germany. They fight with anyone showing real picture to them and making any changes. There is no leadership, no strategy , no real consulting work as they claim but its a bodyshop providing bodies to their old clients. Highly unprofessional, unorganised, directionless, misguided people. You will also find people just collecting their pay checks killing time before they can find any good opportunity. Sales team in UK is excellent where as Sales team (2 in total out of which 1 is a new hire in 2016) is not going to be successful if they are restricted by x-rule politics. North America (Canada recently shut down ) is being paid by Germany. Advice: Please look at their books for last 4-5 years so you can see if they are making in Profit or not. If you are in a position to negotiate, have a contract for at least 2 years, becuase if you are not able to please certain people, you will be gone shortly. Have a good sign on bonus.
