You will make good friends bonding over the failures of this company
Pros
There are some truly wonderful, talented people working at GINX and it's a pleasure seeing them in the office daily. GINX also opens doors for other career opportunities as it generally looks good on paper and former employees go on to do great things.
Cons
Where to begin? GINX TV has only one business plan: pump out as much junk content in the shortest timeframe possible with the fewest resources available. For a cutting edge industry like esports, this company is miles behind the competition in both quality of content and treatment of its staff. Expect to be: worked like a dog, paid well below the industry average, neglected by your line manager and frequently shouted at for making honest mistakes. Talking in the office is seen as counter productive so sitting in silence all day is sadly commonplace. The overall atmosphere is one of tension and stress with managers frequently losing their nerve with the junior employees for simply asking questions or asking for help. The senior managers themselves have become all too comfortable and circulate the same, stale ideas every few months (when they aren't busy watching YouTube videos). The office is located in the middle of an industrial estate far from Kings Cross and its 'facilities' are dire. The ceiling often leaks on rainy days, the toilets become clogged and unusable and it is constantly either freezing in the winter or sweltering in the summer. As others have already pointed out, staff turnover is almost 100% yearly among the junior team. It is simply not possible to stay at this company without suffering from mental health issues which are ignored by the management team when brought up. These usually stem from being worked to the bone to meet ridiculous deadlines set by those who have no clue how a television company actually works. Remote work and flexible working hours are only available to a few seasoned employees (who seem to come and go as they please). There are no performance reviews or career progression structures. The only way to be promoted is if everyone else in your department leaves or you yourself leave for a better position elsewhere. Usually, after a negative review of the company is posted, the CEO will grovel with everyone and make promises that conditions will improve. This is an illusion and absolutely nothing will change. Think twice before deciding to work here.
