Pros

Working at Gaia was an excellent experience for me. From day 1 I felt like family there. The team is full of great people that are willing to help and assist with any question. Many companies expect you to know about the field and don't really take the time to teach you about the job, at Gaia this isn't the case. I can whole-heartedly say that every day at Gaia was a true and rich learning experience. Another thing I loved about Gaia was the company culture. Management makes it a priority to host many team events, we would celebrate birthdays together, and even watched the soccer world cup together over lunch. Personally, I think that this is one of the reasons Gaia is one of the top firms in Manhattan, all of these team activities build a strong and dynamic working environment.

Cons

The expectations at Gaia are high. I personally loved working in a company that pushes you to do more. If you are not able to push yourself to your limits, perhaps working at Gaia is not meant for you.

Pros

There were no pros about working here. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Cons

Firstly, when looking at the benefits they need to be worked on. The medical benefits were not that great. The time off policies are nothing to speak about. You barely accrued any vacation days or personal days during the year. The holidays you actually got off were very limited. The office is open when the stock exchange is closed, so that should tell you something. When trying to take a day off, you have to fight tooth and nail to not be in the office. The expectation is to make the job your life without proper compensation. People were rude and disrespectful. The company itself is very disorganized. Employees have no incentive to the point where dissatisfaction becomes an infectious disease. Turnover is extremely high - people normally do not stay pass six months. Management did not communicate well. They wanted everything "NOW!" With that said there is was proper and realistic sense of deadlines given the current situation of the company.
