Pros

Inspiring team dedicated to the mission. The President has more than four decades of experience working towards the organization's mission and 60% of the team are locals on the ground in the islands. Flexible schedules, 401k, insurance, and many other benefits also a plus.

Cons

Everyone's dedication to the mission tends to lead to working hard towards achieving ambitious goals.

Pros

I haven't worked here long, but I am amazed at the people that work for this great non-profit. The president is a true team player, my supervisor cares and listens to what I need, and the work we are doing is incredibly impactful. So happy to be working here!

Cons

There is a lot of work to be done, but it us worth it!

Pros

I worked with some really wonderful and talented people at GC.

Cons

*Update: They've added two more "positive" reviews from current staff in the last week. Newsflash y'all, people can see the bad reviews from ALL former employees. You're not fooling anyone. First, I'm guessing that many of you who are visiting this page right now are here because you're considering applying for the senior director of marketing, communications, and outreach position. I'm telling you right now, don't do it. If you care about yourself, just don't. The organization clearly hasn't changed since the former president resigned in disgrace in early 2023. So, let's start with the latest review on Glassdoor. Isn't it fascinating that that review was posted by an "Anonymous employee" on February 22nd, the day after this job was posted? What a transparent and pathetic attempt to manipulate Glassdoor reviews. I also know for a fact that the "anonymous" review posted on May 12, 2022, was the former president who was trying to make the place seem less bad than the other reviews do. I worked at GC for a little under 2 years in communications. In that time, I was exposed to the most toxic working environment that I have ever experienced that caused me intense mental and physical stress and deterioration. Even 1.5 years later I'm still working on fully getting over how I and many others were treated. I won't go into details, but suffice it to say that nearly the entire staff was fired or quit during about a year-long period of time in 2022-23. The former president took a blowtorch to a once-proud organization, and though he's gone now, I wouldn't DARE test your luck and hope that things have changed. A few of the same people who created this toxicity remain. If you're tech savvy enough, you'll be able to figure out how to find out who worked for GC back in that period of time. And if you're still considering applying for this position after reading this review, reach out to any of us who worked there back then and are no longer on the current staff page. Then find a way to reach out to us on LinkedIn, email, social, etc. Every single one of us, every single one, will tell you to not touch this place.
