The codebase has the largest technical debt I’ve ever seen, with minimal documentation, weak standards, and inconsistent architecture. Leadership within the tech team tends to be picky rather than quality-focused, with decisions driven by personal preferences instead of engineering best practices. Engineers have limited autonomy or trust to improve the system, even when solutions are objectively better. Deadlines can be unrealistic, with high pressure and poor prioritization, especially during critical periods. Technical reviews and quality assurance processes are either missing or superficial, making improvement difficult.
